Four checks before choosing
- Peak demand: count the busiest run of drinks or bags, not just a daily total.
- Coffee changes: a house-espresso hopper and frequent single dosing need different routines.
- Working space: allow room for hopper filling, bags, adjustment and cleaning beyond the body dimensions.
- Preparation: timed dosing needs weight checks; automatic tamping still needs an evenly distributed coffee bed.
Frequently asked questions
Which Compak models grind by weight?
The grinders in this collection use timed, manual, single-dose or bulk workflows. Do not interpret “on demand” as built-in weighing. Use a separate scale where dose or bag weight needs checking.
What does LLS mean?
Lock & Load System: Compak’s grinding-chamber access mechanism. It is included in the E6 OD LLS and E8 OD LLS model designation; availability on other platforms depends on configuration.
Should I choose flat or conical burrs?
The E10 Conic offers conical geometry; the other grinder platforms here use flat burrs. Geometry alone does not guarantee a particular flavor. Coffee, burr design, recipe and the working routine all matter.
Which grinder can move between espresso and filter?
The PK100 range is especially relevant to a station that changes methods and coffees. The R-series also has a broad range but is organized around bulk and bag grinding.
Where can I find manuals and maintenance videos?
Each product page includes the appropriate manufacturer documents and available setup or cleaning media. Family manuals cover multiple models, so use the instructions for the unit and electrical version supplied.
