Find the machine for your everyday espresso ritual.
Shop flow control espresso machines that let home baristas change water flow or brew pressure during extraction. This additional control can extend pre-infusion, soften the beginning of a shot and create different extraction profiles for the same coffee. The collection includes manual paddles, group-mounted valves and electronically managed flow systems.
Compare related espresso machine collections: all home espresso machines, machines under $1,000, machines with built-in grinders, E61 machines, PID machines, fast heat-up machines, prosumer machines, flow-control machines, and plumbable machines. For a complete setup, compare our home coffee grinders.
Flow control changes how quickly water reaches and moves through the coffee puck. Because flow, resistance and pressure interact, adjusting one changes the others. A low-flow start can saturate the puck gently before full extraction; reducing flow later can taper the shot. The exact response depends on the machine, grinder, coffee and puck preparation.
Some manufacturers describe the control in terms of pressure profiling even when the user is directly changing flow. Use the product’s gauges and instructions to understand what the machine displays. Flow profiling is an advanced tool, but it can also be used simply: establish a repeatable baseline before experimenting.
Flow control is most useful for enthusiasts who enjoy changing coffees and refining recipes. It can help explore light-roast extractions, long pre-infusions and declining-pressure styles. It does not correct an unsuitable grind or uneven puck. Start with a capable grinder, consistent dose and level preparation, then change one stage of the profile at a time.
Many models here use traditional groups; browse all E61 espresso machines for options with and without profiling.
No. Pre-infusion is one phase of extraction. Flow control can influence that phase and continue changing water delivery through the rest of the shot.
Not automatically. It expands your recipe options. A standard full-flow shot may still taste best for a particular coffee.
A gauge is helpful for feedback and repeatability, but what it measures and where it is located varies by machine.
A beginner can leave the control at a normal baseline and learn gradually. Consistent grinding and puck preparation should come first.

After years of toying with the idea of espresso at home I finally jumped off the deep end and bought a Turin MC3. I’d like to thank the folks over at Espresso Outlet for going back and forth with me via email a bunch of beginner questions about how to get the machine dialed in. Don’t have any real comparison to other machines, this being the only one I’ve ever used. Paired the machine with a matching Turin CF46v grinder and, as a person with no experience, have consistently been turning around solid espresso. Once you get the pre-measured shot volume dialed in it’s been outputting a consistent 16/40 ratio on the pulled shots. I do like the separate steam generator as it is rather quick to warm up enough to froth or pull hot water. Machine takes around 10-15 minutes to warm up from cold to operating temps. All in seems well built, feels good, finishes are good. Would buy again.
I spent a LOT of hours researching to find the grinder that I felt would best fit my needs and I am SO happy I decided on this one. I absolutely LOVE my Turin DF54 grinder as it’s nothing but top quality at a ridiculously reasonable price! I must admit, it took me a bit to find that perfect grind setting, but once I did … perfection! The only thing that makes me a tad nervous is when it comes time to clean the burr blade (which of course I haven’t needed to do just yet). But good to know there are videos/visuals to go by to help me through the process. So, yes, THANK you Turin/Espresso outlet for making this grinder available. Extremely pleased! 💛🙌🏼💫🙏🏼✨☕️
Product delivered on time as promised
Ease of use! Great grind every time. Fairly quiet. Feels like a solid piece of equipment at 10#. Making great Espresso shots!! Switches between grind settings with ease for different styles. Bellows ensures minimal retention. Open box deal was amazing. Looks like new!
You can really taste the cinnamon. A true 10 out of 10!
I love my Turin Legato V2!! I was initially torn between it and the Gemilai Ele but went with the V2 because of the additional water flow, along with OPV setting. It literally has just about everything I want in an advance espresso machine in a small package at an amazing value - pulls perfect shots! The only slight downside is that the drip tray is small so emptying it daily is a must. If Turin makes a version 3, please keep all the same settings and options but give it a bigger drip tray/workflow, longer steam wand, and make it prettier. It's basically touching on perfect. Thanks!
3-week review. Quality burr grinder. Consistently able to get X g in and X g out at the right grind.
Amazing grinder. beautiful in every way, very powerful and does exactly what its intended for. very happy with this purchase
Absolutely gorgeous machine, and so easy to plug and play. Was very surprised and extremely pleased to receive a flawless unit even as an open box. Thank you so much!
Great website and fast delivery on the DF54. Love the new machine, thank you!
I ordered a grinder and truly love it! No regrets at all. I look forward to using it every day!
I did a lot of research before I purchased this burr grinder and I am extremely impressed and happy with it!
This is a serious improvement on the original DF 83.
I purchased an open-box Turin SK40, and I was extremely impressed when it arrived in what appeared to be brand-new condition. The grinder is solid, substantial, modern-looking, and surprisingly quiet. It grinds beautifully and has exceeded my expectations.
I’m very impressed with both the grinder and my overall experience with Espresso Outlet LLC. As a new customer, I couldn’t be happier with the great pricing, fast shipping, and responsive customer service. I’ll definitely be purchasing my coffee equipment and supplies from them in the future.
Thank you, Espresso Outlet LLC, for a great experience!
