Wendougee LITA Pressure Profiling: Start With a Simple Shot
Do not begin with a complicated multi-stage profile. First dial the coffee at a steady pressure such as 8 bars, then add one intentional change so its effect can be tasted and measured.
Establish the baseline
Warm the LITA and portafilter, use fresh coffee, and keep dose, distribution, tamp, temperature, and beverage yield consistent. Pull a simple shot and record time, flow, taste, and any visible channeling. Pressure profiling cannot repair an uneven puck.
Try a three-stage profile
- Gentle saturation: begin at low pressure long enough to wet the puck evenly.
- Main extraction: rise to the steady pressure that produced the baseline shot.
- Declining finish: reduce pressure near the end if flow accelerates or the coffee tastes better with a gentler finish.
Change only one stage on the next shot. If preinfusion time, peak pressure, grind, and yield all move together, the result cannot identify what helped.
Judge the cup, not the graph
A smooth curve can still taste unbalanced, and a visually imperfect graph can produce excellent espresso. Use the app data to repeat a result, not to chase a decorative shape.
If app commands do not match machine behavior, return to a simple manual profile. Save screenshots, app and firmware versions, dose, grind, and a video before contacting support.
