Eureka Mignon Zero 55mm Single-Dose Espresso Grinder

The Eureka Mignon Zero 55 is an Italian-made single-dose grinder for home baristas who weigh each dose, change coffees frequently, and want to minimize exchange between one grind and the next. It combines 55mm flat steel burrs with a 45g hopper, bellows, dosing cup, stepless adjustment, Silent Technology and Eureka’s ACE anti-static system.

Within the Eureka lineup, the Zero is the dedicated single-dose alternative to the hopper-fed Mignon Specialita. It gives up touchscreen presets in favor of a simpler weigh-in/weigh-out workflow.

Why Choose Eureka Mignon Zero 55?

  • Purpose-built single dosing: A 45g hopper, bellows and dosing cup support weighing beans before every grind.
  • 55mm flat steel burrs: A versatile burr set with the fine control required for espresso.
  • Blow Up System: The bellows helps clear grounds from the chamber and chute.
  • Stepless micrometric adjustment: Precise control without fixed click settings.
  • Silent Technology: Vibration damping and case insulation reduce operating noise.
  • ACE system: Helps control clumping and static at the chute.
  • Adjustable fork: Supports the included dosing cup or many portafilters.

Who Is It Best For?

Choose the Zero if you pre-weigh every dose, rotate among coffees or decaf, and want a compact grinder that can handle espresso plus occasional filter brewing.

It is less convenient for a household making several drinks from one coffee. For push-button timed dosing choose the Specialita; for automatic weight-based dosing choose a Libra.

Eureka Mignon Zero vs Specialita vs Libra vs Silenzio

The key difference is workflow: the Zero is manual single dose, the Specialita and Silenzio are hopper-fed timed grinders, and the Libra models stop by weight.

Model Burrs Dosing workflow Best for Main reason to choose it
Eureka Mignon Silenzio 50 50mm flat steel Manual or analog timed dosing Quiet, straightforward home espresso The simplest and most affordable hopper-fed Mignon in this collection
Eureka Mignon Zero 55 55mm flat steel Single dose with bellows and cup Changing coffees and weighing each dose Purpose-built low-retention single-dose workflow
Eureka Mignon Specialita 55 55mm flat steel Two timed doses + continuous Daily hopper-fed espresso Touchscreen convenience and repeatable timed dosing
Eureka Mignon Libra 55 55mm flat steel Grind by weight Hands-free espresso dosing Stops at a programmed gram target rather than time
Eureka Mignon Libra 65 AP 65mm flat steel, all-purpose geometry Grind by weight Espresso and filter from one grinder Larger burrs, built-in scale and easier setting changes
Eureka Atom 75 75mm flat steel Electronic timed dosing High-volume espresso Faster commercial-style output without grind-by-weight
Eureka Atom W 75 75mm flat steel Grind by weight High-volume, weight-based espresso Atom speed plus an integrated weighing system

Mignon Zero 55 vs Libra 65 AP

The Zero 55 is smaller, simpler and designed for manually weighing individual doses. The Libra 65 AP keeps beans in a hopper, weighs grounds automatically, uses larger all-purpose burrs and makes repeatable movement between brew methods easier.

Single-Dose Workflow and Bellows

Weigh the beans, add them to the 45g hopper, start the grinder and use the bellows near the end of the cycle. The included dosing cup makes it easy to transfer grounds to a portafilter or brewer. Output can vary by coffee and cleaning interval, so weigh the finished grounds when exact exchange matters.

Stepless Micrometric Grind Adjustment

The fine-threaded dial provides the control needed to dial in espresso. It can reach coarser settings, but the compact dial makes large and frequent changes less convenient than the King-Size dial on the Libra 65 AP.

Quiet Grinding, ACE and Low Retention

The insulated Mignon body helps control noise, while ACE reduces clumps and static. The bellows can lower retained exchange, but no grinder is literally zero retention; coffee can remain around the burrs and chute.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Eureka Mignon Zero good for espresso?

Yes. Its 55mm flat burrs and stepless adjustment are well suited to dialing in espresso, while the cup and bellows make a tidy single-dose workflow.

What is the difference between the Zero and Specialita?

The Zero is designed for pre-weighed single doses and includes bellows and a cup. The Specialita has a 300g hopper and touchscreen timed dosing for repeatedly using one coffee.

Can I keep beans in the Zero hopper?

The 45g hopper is intended for one dose or a small batch, not long-term bean storage. The Zero works best when beans are measured before grinding.

Does the bellows produce exactly zero retention?

No. It helps expel grounds, but retained coffee and exchange vary with roast, humidity, grind setting and cleaning interval.

Can Eureka Mignon Zero 55 grind for pour-over or drip coffee?

Yes. The burrs can grind for filter methods, but returning precisely to espresso takes care. If you switch brew methods daily, the Libra 65 AP has an easier-to-track dial and all-purpose burr design.

How much coffee does Eureka Mignon Zero 55 retain?

The bellows and compact chamber are designed to reduce retention. Actual exchange varies with coffee, grind size and technique, so weigh output and clean periodically rather than assuming a fixed number.

Does Eureka Mignon Zero 55 require RDT?

A very light mist can help in dry conditions, but the ACE system often makes RDT unnecessary. Never add standing water or wet beans to the grinder.

How quiet is Eureka Mignon Zero 55?

It is relatively quiet for a flat-burr grinder because the Mignon case uses Eureka’s Silent Technology.

Can SSP burrs be installed?

This is a 55mm platform, not the common 64mm SSP format. Use only burrs specifically confirmed for this exact Eureka model.

Will cleaning erase the grind setting?

Routine upper-burr access generally preserves the lower-burr adjustment. Mark the dial before service, unplug the grinder, and follow the manual whenever opening the burr chamber.

Should the grinder run while adjusting finer?

Yes. Run the motor while moving finer so beans are less likely to become compressed between the burrs. Make small changes and purge a little coffee before evaluating the next extraction.

Is this the 120V U.S. version?

Yes. This listing is for a 110–120V, 60Hz U.S.-market grinder. Do not use it on a 220–240V electrical system without the correct manufacturer-specified version.

Where is Eureka Mignon Zero 55 made?

Eureka manufactures this grinder in Florence, Italy.

Does Espresso Outlet provide support and warranty service?

Espresso Outlet supports the products it sells and can help with setup, parts, and service questions. Warranty coverage follows the applicable U.S. terms for this listing; contact us with an order number for a specific claim.
