A house blend shaped by the roaster
Bendix Signature Blend combines two coffees selected from the owners’ personal favorites. They are roasted to a medium-dark level and presented with cocoa notes and a strong, pronounced coffee character. It is a house-style blend rather than a single-origin or named-farm lot.
The component origins, proportions, cultivars, elevations and processing methods are not disclosed. Those details are not guessed from the flavor profile. Cocoa is a tasting descriptor rather than a listed added flavor, and the product is not presented as flavored coffee.
This blend suits customers who want a versatile medium-dark cup for drip, immersion or milk drinks. Bendix also offers a separate espresso-focused blend, so Signature is best understood as the broader all-around option.

Set extraction before adjusting strength
For automatic drip, start with 30 grams of coffee and 480 grams of filtered water. Use a medium grind and water around 198–202°F. Ensure the bed is evenly saturated, then taste a small amount black before deciding how the cocoa impression and body hold up with milk.
If the brew is sharply sour and thin, grind slightly finer to increase extraction. If it becomes dry or harsh, move coarser or reduce agitation. Once flavor balance is established, change dose to control strength. Increasing dose and extending contact time simultaneously makes it difficult to identify what improved the cup.
For French press, use 30 grams to 500 grams of water with a medium-coarse grind. Steep four minutes, allow sediment to settle and decant. This metal-filter method can increase perceived body compared with paper filtration, while a pour-over can emphasize clarity.
Whole-bean buyers can make repeatable changes with the Turin DF54 grinder. For espresso, the Turin DF64 Gen 2 grinder provides finer adjustment, although Bendix’s dedicated espresso coffee is the more method-specific starting point.
Choose a useful bag size
The 12-ounce bag fits an initial evaluation. One pound suits steady home use, and five pounds is best when several people share the coffee or consumption is high. Divide bulk coffee into smaller airtight portions rather than exposing the entire bag each day.
Whole bean offers grind control; ground is convenient for drip, while coarse ground is intended for immersion. Store coffee away from heat, moisture and sunlight. Degassing can change bloom and flow after roasting, so note the roast date when supplied and adjust gradually.
A simple side-by-side tasting is more informative than relying on roast names alone: brew equal doses with the same water, record strength and let both cups cool. Use clean brewing equipment throughout. Compare Signature with Bendix Espresso Medium-Dark Roast if espresso is the primary method. For a lighter daily blend, see Bendix Breakfast Blend. Use the same dose and beverage size for a useful roast comparison.
