Allagash Ghost Trains brings dark caramel and apricot together in a blend of medium- and dark-roasted coffees. Mainely describes a rich, creamy body and an almond finish. The name honors the historic locomotives in Maine’s northern woods, but the cup profile remains the key distinction from the roaster’s other geographically themed blends.

For a first immersion serving, use 24 g coffee with 400 g water and decant once steeping is complete. Taste at a comfortable temperature and look for the fruit reference after the initial caramel-like impression. A second, cooler sip can offer a different view of that balance.

If you usually add milk, reserve a small black sample before doing so. This separates the coffee’s creamy-body description from the texture of added dairy. For the next brew, keep milk quantity fixed while testing any change in grind or extraction.

Does the train theme imply an unusually dark roast?

The documented recipe combines two roast levels, rather than identifying a uniformly dark coffee. A current supplier catalog record was unavailable, so the existing blend profile is retained without adding new component countries, proportions or current production claims.

You really can't complain at this price! Yes, it's made of plastic, but it gets the job done for grinding beans. Zeroing the grinder is a bit tricky and it's not the easiest to adjust. However, I've been using it for a month now and I'm quite satisfied overall.

Great Roaster Smooth coffee

I bought this roaster to launch my micro roastery. Its amazing, i roast some truly amazing coffee with my kaliedo. I am able to roast all night on it most night i am roasting anywhere from 10-20 batches non stop. The only issue i have had is cooling fans breaking on me i have had to replace 2 cooling fans. But given how much i roast i can not complain, its a work horse and i love it. The best part is the customer service. I will 100 precent be buying my next roaster here because of the customer service. They go above and beyond to help and solve any issues you may have. Lastly i like how easy it is work on and maintain the kalideo. The spare parts are affordable and its easy to replace parts that break. if you need a good entry roaster look no further
