First off, let me start by saying Espresso Outlet's customer service is top notch! My first order arrived, and the grinder stopped working on day 5. I contacted EO and they immediately arranged for me to return it (still had the box) and then shipped me out a new grinder as soon as they got confirmation of it being shipped. A+ Got the new grinder and it's been smooth sailing since. Also, I think the first grinder I received must have been the last from a slightly older lot, because the new one had some very slight differences, like the chute you feed beans into was detachable on the first one, but not on the second.
But on to the grinder review. I upgraded from a Baratza Sette 270wi, and let me just say, there is no comparison. I have the stock espresso burrs on the DF83V, but man are they great. Maybe someday I'll look at fiddling with burrs, but for now I'm really enjoying these. There is so much more nuance to the coffee flavor, it's like I'm discovering great home espresso all over again. This thing is a beast, too. Heavy, feels rock solid, and QUIET. My husband doesn't share my love of coffee. He has always complained about the noise my grinders make in the morning. Two days after using this one, he tells me "I like your new grinder." Me: "You do? Why?" Him: "It's quiet. I can sleep through it in the morning." So take that for what you will.
I also had the chance to use a CF64V prior to this one (a friend's), and while that one also had great clarity and nuance of flavor, clean up with the DF83V is world's easier. I would absolutely recommend this grinder. I think it very likely compares favorably with much more expensive grinders in its grinder class.
perfect
made in china..
This is such a great single dose grinder, especially at this price range. Having variable rpm control can really alter the taste of espresso and gives you extra control. It’s well designed and pairs nicely with a wendougee data s. I can’t think of a better option at this pricepoint.
I have used it for two weeks. Espresso stock burrs work great. The machine is steady and really quiet. I am happy with it so far.
Best value under $1k for a high quality grinder

from 1270 reviewsVery good service and supports…which is what you might need and I needed, they helped me with the DF64 grinder issue asap.
This is an excellent product. Well made and functions beautifully!
The grinder has lived up to expectations. It is easy to use and has been great upgrade from my previous grinder for producing consistent espresso.
Really appreciate the customer service from Espresso Outlet as they proactively refunded, then shipped out the upgraded titanium burrs for this order that were backordered. Would definitely recommend purchasing from them.
Super fast shipping. Absolutely no static with this grinder while doing fine grind espresso shots. Does very well with coarse grinds as well with no mess. Retention is crazy good, out of 30 grinds so far what I have put in is exactly what I have got back. Do not hesitate on this one. Now I need the C83 for testing!
There does't seem to be any comparable machine at this time and this price point from a U.S. distributor. The features that I have found useful are:
- The ability to create and store pressure profiles.
- The ability to integrate with a Bookoo scale.
- The ability to run the software on an iPad.
- The ability to run on a standard 15 amp circuit.
This seems like a solid well built machine and I find it more enjoyable to use than a traditional traditional machine with a flow paddle.
I really like this grinder. I purchased it mainly for the grind by weight feature. Despite it being "all purpose," it has some fantastic reviews, so I took a chance. It's too slow to change settings to quickly go between drip and espresso, but for me that's fine. This is a dedicated espresso grinder. I also love the simplicity. There's not a lot to fiddle with. The build is fantastic and it looks great on the counter. The only issue I've had is fitting bottomless portafilters. I finally figured out the balance, but it doesn't seem as simple as it is with spouted portafilters. All in all, very satisfied. I plan on keeping this for years to come.
I wanted a small footprint single-dose grinder with solid engineering and whisper quiet operation - that’s exactly what I got with the Turin DF64V Gen 3 grinder. This is a beautiful addition to my other kitchen appliances, and after only a few weeks and less than 2 lbs of beans to season the burrs, I’m already more than satisfied with the quality of the grind and the espresso shots I’ve been producing. I expect that the grind quality will continue to improve as I run more beans through it and properly season the burrs, but I have no complaints with what I’m getting during the break-in period. I especially appreciate that this grinder was designed to be easily disassembled for cleaning and maintenance. I also found that the active ionizer/plasma generator performs so well that I no longer need to use the RDT method to reduce static. I look forward to many years of use with this highly recommended grinder!
I did a lot of research before buying this machine. I knew I wanted to get a capable machine in all areas (PID control, strong steam, 58 mm ecosystem), but all of the options within the spec range I was looking for were at least 500 dollars, and many didn’t have all the specs I wanted. After using this machine for a little over a month, I have been very impressed. The only thing keeping this machine from being just as top tier as many 1000 dollar machines is its lack of long term proven reliability. Despite this, everything I have seen online and experienced firsthand indicates that this machine hits seriously above its price. With all of that out of the way, I would not buy this machine with the expectation that you will be getting the same experience as an ultra high end prosumer machine. It still only costs 430$, which means that some parts on it will reflect the cheap price point. For example, the PID buttons are difficult to press and it is hard to know when you are pressing it. The steam knob is plastic. But all of this is to be expected when you are paying 430$ for a machine with the specs of a 1000$ machine. These problems don’t bother me, but are certainly worth noting.
Just getting into super serious coffee drinking and preparation, but I was really happy with this purchase. Seems well made and the better grind is making noticeably tastier coffee.
So, I was hesitant to order an Open Box item, but ended up taking a chance given the savings, and I am glad I did. While I have only had the SK40 a few weeks, I am pleased with its performance. I like the stepless design, making it easy to tweak the grind ever so slightly. The only caution I have is one that has been called out in numerous reviews - don't plan to use this as your only grinder if you bounce between espresso and another brewing method. This is a great espresso grinder for darker roasts. If you are a fan of darker roast beans, look no further. This does that exceptionally well.
My hubby loved the grinder - it works flawlessly and I enjoy a coffee from it everyday.
Nothing out there now with big 83 conicals and a solid build like this for home. Heat low and fast grind at 280 RPM. Aesthetically pleasing. Grateful espresso outlet brought it to market. Just what I needed! Thanks so much.
First, Steve was very helpful in figuring out what you need out of a grinder. Customer service has been amazing, and gives me confidence in the product and support for it after purchase. I paired my Lelit Bianca v3 with this grinder and have been getting amazing shots. Grinder looks sleek, clean and feels extremely robust, like a proper piece of heavy duty equipment robust. Retention has not been an issue, the knocker tool and bellows do everything they need to, if they're even needed. It is actually quite quiet. Would recommend the black dial on black body combination. Overall quite a lot of grinder.
So far after three weeks, this machine has performed great. The temperature stability is good for pulling a double shot and steaming milk, with minimal time to reheat. It has been great value.
Just got my machine recently and have been having excellent expressos and milk based drinks with this. Love the flow/ pressure profiling and temps are super accurate as well. Dont miss the vibratory pump either from my old Rocket :-)
