European Espresso Coffee Blend
European Espresso grew from an espresso experience near the Eiffel Tower. Black Powder builds its four-origin blend with more than 60% Indonesian coffee, Americas components for bite and a small African component for brightness. A small Robusta share supports crema and mouthfeel; baked chocolate, creamy sweetness and low acidity define the stated cup.

Dialing in espresso
Start with a basket-appropriate dose; for an 18 g basket, try 18 g of coffee and 36 g beverage yield. A roughly 25–30-second extraction is an initial reference, not a fixed requirement. Taste the shot before changing the recipe. If it runs fast and tastes sour or thin, grind finer; if it chokes or finishes harshly, try coarser.
Keep the dose fixed while dialing in. Once the espresso is balanced, test a longer yield or add a measured amount of milk. With a Turin Legato espresso machine, use the same measured dose-and-yield approach rather than relying on shot volume alone.
Frequently asked questions
Is it an all-Arabica blend?
No. The roaster documents a small Robusta percentage among the four components. The exact percentage is not provided.
What flavor profile should I expect?
Baked chocolate, creamy sweetness, low acidity and velvety finish. These are sensory descriptions; your brewing method and serving temperature affect their expression.
Which size and format should I choose?
1 lb or 5 lb; whole bean or coarse, drip and espresso grind. Select the grind that matches your brewer. Whole bean offers flexibility; a preground selection is ready for its intended method.
How can I adjust the cup’s strength?
Change the brew ratio if the flavor is balanced but the drink is too weak or too strong. Use slightly more coffee for greater concentration. Change grind size when the issue is extraction, such as sourness or a dry finish.
Can I compare it with another coffee?
Yes. Keep coffee dose, water amount and brewer consistent, and taste both at a similar temperature. That makes roast, body and acidity easier to compare without confusing them with different strengths.
How should I keep it fresh?
Keep the coffee sealed away from heat, light and moisture. Grind whole beans shortly before brewing. Choose a bag size that fits your consumption so repeated opening does not expose a large supply to air.

For the whole-bean option, a Turin DF54 grinder lets you adjust particle size between brews. Record the setting with your dose and water amount so the next cup is easier to repeat.
