Note about water hardness

Using hard water will ruin your espresso machine. Soft water no higher than 50ppm is required to keep your espresso machine running for the long term. Using hard water will void the warranty.

Easy to replace the switch on df64

Excellent switch!

We got one of the first DF64 G2s, which works really well, but the plastic switch gave in. It seems the newer units are fitted with the metal one from the factory now, so we had to replace ours under warranty and the guys at EO were extremely prompt and responsive, many tnx.

The replacement is quite easy, although the provided cap clamps are smaller than the original, but we only wish there were a better solution for fitting back the 2 bottom lid screws at reassembly. Although it should have been a rather simple task, it took quite a few tries and some strong wording to get the job done. We do design for a living, so this is not a laymen observation - please, consider a better and closer screw lead-ins, it's not too difficult - the bottom has to be opened from time to time. Further, there was some ground coffee in there, which has to be considered as well.

Nevertheless, this is the best switch for the unit! 😊
