Note about water hardness
Using hard water will ruin your espresso machine. Soft water no higher than 50ppm is required to keep your espresso machine running for the long term. Using hard water will void the warranty.
Its a great value for a grinder, and one that might be in the top tier as a travel grinder. The one easily correctable issue is the pint glass looking cup that comes with it. It really needs to be paired with a true dosing cup, but to do that you need a "highchair" for the dosing cup. If you have a 3D printer I've got one loaded on printables at https://www.printables.com/model/1363325-turin-dm47-coffee-grinder-highchair-shaker-stand that should fit a few (one linked for $11.xx that works well) dosing cups.
Before purchasing the DM47, I used my TIMEMORE Chestnut C3S Pro Manual Coffee Grinder for all my coffee grinding. I make 72 ozs of cold brew per week with my AeroPress XL and hand-ground all the beans. After a lot of research, I chose the DM47 for the conical burrs to match the results of my TIMEMORE.
The DM47 was easy to dial in by comparing the grinds side by side. Retention is minimal as long as you use the bellow as you grind and mist your beans. Some beans will still stick, and you must have a brush or similar object to push the beans into the burs. The bar across the opening will hold some beans when pouring in 30 grams of beans, I have not had an issue with 15 grams. I turn the grinder on before dumping the beans in with a dosing cup.
Speed is excellent for my use and has cut my brewing time by half. The grinder is quiet. The cord with the transformer, due to being 12-volt compatible, can get in the way, but the cord is of sufficient length.
Clean up is easy except for the outer walls of the burrs, the section with the numbers, tens to retain ground coffee. It takes some time to clean them completely with a brush. The air puffer is ok, but does not move much air. The bellows do retain coffee grounds and are nearly impossible to clean totally.
The dosing cup will easily hold 30 grams of ground coffee.
I like it but it has a learning curve. The directions are a joke. Videos online helped some, but there needs to be a better one on dialing in the grind settings. It really is zero retention which will help a lot in not having to take it apart to clean it. Trying to get it back to your preferred grind is a trial in patience.
I like this grinder and I really enjoyed my coffee with the stock burrs.
Solidly built, compact, quiet, easy to clean, wonderful grind profile for pour over. I had high expectations that were exceeded on every point. If it disappeared I would immediately buy another

Let customers speak for us
from 1009 reviewsSo far so good, the Wendougee Data S is an impressive machine with commercial grade components and a solid platform to produce consistent shots. This is a big upgrade from my previous machine, a Rocket Giotto which was a reliable performer for over 10 years.

Product is excellent. And communication with espresso outlet as well. Big thank you!

Great correspondence and a pleasure to deal with. I will be ordering from them again. Thanks peeps
Response is great and fast. I'm disappointed in that they no longer sell the Turin Capriccio as it was within my price range for a dual boiler but maybe the new double boiler might work better if the price is right. Thanks Espresso Outlet for the info.
My only knock is that I wish i got the 64 lol! Anyways, its amazing
Espresso Outlet is hand down the best coffee gear company out there! Joe goes above and beyond with incredible service and truly puts customers first. Quick shipping, unbeatable prices, and a fantastic variety of quality products. Every step of the process is smooth and worry free. If you’re debating a purchase, don’t. This is the place to order!
Great customer service thank you for carrying the Turin Trekbrew portable espresso machine!
Received my Wendougee Data S machine last week. The machine arrived on time precisely and carefully packed in a well constructed pallet-ready wooden crate. Inside, the machine was bolted to the bottom of the crate with two heavy duty bolts to prevent movement, and was surrounded by custom-molded thick polymer pads for further protection. No missing parts. No scratches, dents or imperfections. Setup was fast and easy with provided quick-start instructions. App downloaded without problems and connected to machine and iPad seamlessly. Boilers heat up quickly. Steam power is next level. Gear pump is awesome. With the sole exception of the large black plastic trip tray, everything on this machine shouts commercial grade components and quality. In just a few days I am pulling better, more consistent, fuller body, sweeter, more interesting, and more nuanced shots with this machine than any of the others I have owned and used previously. Internet connectivity and access to the Wendougee user community’s espresso profiles and recipes is a big bonus. Real time feedback provided by pressure and flow curves is another big bonus. The ability to make your own profiles easily is another. The obvious careful and detailed construction, engineering and design, high quality mostly Italian internal components, and seamless smooth operation of this machine are a testament to Wendougee’s vision and commitment to build a really good future-ready espresso, and actually deliver on the promise. Time will tell if the promise will be fulfilled over the long haul, but right now I don’t have any reason to believe it won’t. Kudos and thanks go to Wendougee for providing such a fine machine at this price point. For now my opinion is that you could spend two or three times more on a different machine with a bigger name and you probably would not get any better results (or even inferior results). This machine is a market disruptor and not a copy of anything else. It’s original, and it’s one fine machine that makes really good espresso.

The grinder came as advertised and performed as described
Espresso Outlet has become my go to for all coffee equipment. Their Turin brand of grinders and espresso machines have quickly become one of the best values in espresso. If they carry something I want, it's guaranteed to be competitively priced and the customer service is better than any company I've personally experienced. Could not be happier.
