Overview

The new bottomless portafilter for La Spaziale has a 1 mm spring clip and a modified design that allows insert baskets to easily be fitted in and removed. Included with the portafilter is a precision triple insert basket 21 grams. The rubber handle on this portafilter is straight, not ergonomic.

The Spaziale Bottomless Portafilter with Precision Basket (53mm) is a valuable training tool that offers immediate feedback on the quality of your espresso. By using this portafilter, you can easily detect channeling, which is the rapid flow of water through cracks in the coffee puck that leads to under-extracted espresso. Keep an eye out for sudden blond streaks in the espresso stream and pencil lead-sized holes in the puck as signs of channeling.

This Bottomless Portafilter is compatible with all commercial machines from La Spaziale, including the Mini Vivaldi and Vivaldi II. The manufacturer, LFSpa, has precisely crafted the portafilter to showcase a sleek chrome finish on the bottom. It is important to note that this portafilter is not an official La Spaziale product and does not bear their branding.

Note about water hardness

Using hard water will ruin your espresso machine. Soft water no higher than 50ppm is required to keep your espresso machine running for the long term. Using hard water will void the warranty.
