A dark roast with a gentler profile
Bendix Peru Dark Roast is described as mild and sweet, with medium body and delicate acidity. That makes it a useful option for drinkers who want darker roast development without choosing a cup defined only by bitterness or smoke. Bendix identifies the coffee as Fair Trade Organic certified.
Peru is the documented country of origin. A region, cooperative, farm, producer, cultivar, elevation, harvest and processing method are not named, so none are added here. The certification is retained exactly as supplied without expanding it into unverified farm-level or environmental claims.
The listing offers whole bean, ground and coarse-ground coffee in 12-ounce, one-pound and five-pound bags. This is regular caffeinated coffee; a separate Peruvian Swiss Water Process listing is the decaffeinated option.

Keep the dark-roast finish balanced
For automatic drip, begin with 30 grams of coffee and 480 grams of filtered water. Use a medium grind and water around 195–200°F. Darker coffee is generally more soluble than lighter coffee, so maximum temperature and prolonged contact are not always helpful.
If roast bitterness dominates the mild sweetness, use slightly cooler water, reduce agitation or grind a little coarser. If the cup feels thin, move finer before greatly increasing the dose. Change one variable at a time and judge the finish after the coffee cools enough to taste comfortably.
For French press, use 30 grams of coarse or medium-coarse coffee to 500 grams of water. Steep about four minutes, let sediment settle and decant fully. Metal filtration retains more oils and suspended material than paper, which can emphasize the documented medium body.
For espresso experimentation, order whole bean and use an adjustable grinder such as the Turin DF64 Gen 2 grinder. Start with a basket-appropriate dose and weigh beverage yield. No Bendix espresso recipe is supplied for this coffee, so treat any ratio as an initial test rather than a guarantee.
Format, freshness and comparison
Choose 12 ounces for a first tasting, one pound for regular use or five pounds for higher-volume brewing. A larger bag should be divided into well-sealed portions if it will not be used promptly. Ground coffee loses aroma faster because more surface area is exposed.
Keep the bag sealed away from heat, damp air and direct light. Fresh coffee releases carbon dioxide during degassing, which can change bloom and espresso flow. Follow any roast date or Bendix rest advice when provided rather than applying one fixed schedule to every dark roast.
Use filtered water with a consistent mineral profile when comparing brews; large changes in alkalinity can mute perceived acidity or alter the finish. Compare this regular dark roast with Bendix Peru Swiss Water Decaf to separate roast preference from caffeine preference. For another dark-origin profile, see Bendix Papua New Guinea Dark Roast.
