A heavy-bodied Peruvian dark roast in bulk
Peru Cococho is Hemisphere Coffee Roasters' dark-roasted Peruvian offering in a five-pound package. The roaster emphasizes heavy body and pronounced aroma rather than presenting a long list of fruit, spice or confectionery notes. This makes the product's most useful distinctions its origin, roast development, texture and bulk format.
Peru is the documented country. The current record does not identify a region, farm, cooperative, producer, cultivar, elevation, harvest or post-harvest process. Cococho is the product name and does not by itself supply those facts. This page leaves the information unclaimed instead of inserting generic Peruvian coffee details.
Customers can choose Ground or Whole Bean. Whole bean provides control over particle size for press, drip or another compatible brewer. Ground offers convenience when its fixed grind matches the equipment. Both variants are five pounds, so the purchase should be planned around steady turnover.

Decide whether five pounds fits the routine
A five-pound bag contains about 2,268 grams of coffee. At a 25-gram dry dose, that is roughly 90 brews before any grinder retention, recipe testing or larger servings. Calculate daily use before ordering so the bulk size supports convenience without leaving coffee open for an unnecessarily long period.
Divide the bag into smaller airtight portions and keep only one active. Store away from heat, humidity, direct sunlight and strong aromas. For an office, label each portion with the date opened and post the standard dose and water quantity beside the brewer.
Ground coffee has greater exposed surface area and generally loses aroma faster. Whole beans preserve grind flexibility but still require careful storage. Degassing changes brew flow as the bag rests, so whole-bean users should expect small grinder corrections.
Dark-roast surfaces may show more oil over time. Follow the grinder manufacturer's cleaning procedure; do not put water or improvised cleaning materials into the burr chamber unless the manual permits it.
Brew for body without an unnecessarily harsh finish
For French press, start with 25 grams of medium-coarse coffee and 400 grams of filtered water, a 1:16 ratio. Steep about four minutes, press gently and decant the full brew. Leaving coffee on the grounds causes continuing extraction and makes later servings more bitter.
If the cup is rough, smoky or drying, grind coarser or try slightly cooler water. Dark roast development tends to increase solubility, so a longer steep or finer grind is not automatically beneficial. If it tastes weak but already bitter, adjust beverage strength separately from extraction.
For paper filtration, use a similar ratio and a grind suited to the brewer. Paper can provide more clarity and less sediment, while a metal filter retains more oils and texture. Compare both at equal strength before deciding which better expresses the heavy body.
Whole-bean customers can use the Turin DF54 grinder for repeatable press and filter adjustments. Compare Hemisphere Nicaragua SHG 5 lb for a lighter roast with citrus acidity, or browse the Specialty Coffee collection.

Ordering and shipping
Coffee ships directly from the roaster partner. Roasted coffee does not qualify for free shipping; shipping charges are set by the partner. Coffee orders are not eligible for returns or cancellations, so confirm the bag size, grind and quantity before ordering.
Because variants can differ by grind and size, review the exact selection shown in the cart before checkout. When the shipment arrives, retain the roaster label and note the chosen variant with your first brew record. That makes later recipe adjustments and reordering more reliable than relying on the product name alone.
