The E61 Bottomless Portafilter comes equipped with a precise triple insert basket created by IMS. As a training tool, the bottomless portafilter allows for instant feedback and helps identify any channeling that may occur during the extraction process. This is characterized by thin, under-extracted espresso and rapid water passage through fractures in the coffee puck, often leading to the appearance of blond streaks or small holes. Note about water hardness

Using hard water will ruin your espresso machine. Soft water no higher than 50ppm is required to keep your espresso machine running for the long term. Using hard water will void the warranty.
