DF54 Chute and Declumper Upgrade Kit

This kit is intended to reduce clogging on eligible earlier DF54 grinders. It includes a redesigned chute, chute cover, dual-layer declumper and the required crimp connectors. The original eligibility guidance covers DF54 grinders received from Espresso Outlet or Turin Grinders before December 20, 2025.

Check Compatibility Before Ordering

Your grinder What to check
DF54 received before December 20, 2025 The original eligibility group. Compare your existing chute and wiring with the installation demonstration; contact support if the assembly differs.
Later DF54, including current v4.1 Do not assume this is a necessary upgrade. The current v4.1 listing already specifies an updated metal declumper and enlarged exit chute. Confirm existing parts before ordering.
Unknown purchase date, voltage, revision or previously modified unit Send your order number, rating-label photo and clear chute photos to support for an exact match. A date alone does not identify every production detail.
DF64, DF64V, DF83 or other grinders This DF54 kit is not listed for those models. Use the matching model’s parts catalog.

The embedded demonstration is titled DF54 v3 Upgrade Kit Installation. It shows the earlier assembly used for the demonstration; it is not a claim that every later DF54 has the same parts.

Installation Video and Written Companion

Watch the full demonstration before opening the grinder. The procedure includes electrical connector work. If the components or wiring differ, stop and obtain model-specific support instead of adapting the procedure.

Prepare

Empty the grinder and unplug it. Work on a clean, dry surface with a tray for screws. The demonstration uses screwdrivers and wire-cutting/crimping tools alongside the kit connectors. Confirm the correct driver fit and connector tooling before starting.

  1. Identify and document: photograph the existing chute, declumper and wire routing. Compare them with the video and keep each removed part in order.
  2. Open the assembly: follow the demonstrated removal of the adjustment collar and upper burr carrier, then the chute cover and fasteners. Keep loose hardware away from the burr chamber.
  3. Replace the matched parts: install the kit’s chute and declumper in the orientation shown. The video demonstrates transferring the connected components and joining the leads with the supplied connectors. Obtain support if you cannot positively match the connections.
  4. Reassemble: check that wires are secured clear of moving parts, screws are accounted for and the cover and upper carrier are fully seated. Do not force a threaded collar.
  5. Check before use: with the grinder still unplugged, check that no tool or loose part remains. Follow the model’s setup instructions to restore the grind setting. Stop if the grinder makes an unusual sound or the chute remains obstructed.

This companion summarizes the demonstrated sequence; it does not replace the detailed video or model-specific service instructions.

Setup and Compatibility Help

Compare the current DF54 v4.1 specification, use the DF54 setup and support guide, and contact Espresso Outlet with your order and photos before ordering when revision compatibility is unclear.

Shipping and delivery requirements vary by product, destination, and order type. Review the product-specific notes on this page and Espresso Outlet’s shipping, return, cancellation, and warranty policies before ordering.

Large or commercial equipment may require freight delivery, bench testing, electrical work, plumbing, or professional installation. Submit a support ticket before ordering if you need help confirming requirements.

Note about water hardness

Using hard water will ruin your espresso machine. Soft water no higher than 50ppm is required to keep your espresso machine running for the long term. Using hard water will void the warranty.

Great Service! It has been a few months since I purchased my machine, but I absolutely love it. Initially I had some issues with damage from shipping, but Joe took care of it immediately so there were no problems. He also stayed on the phone with me for a long time the day I received my machine so I could get everything working properly. I highly recommend!

Great customer service! Joe worked with me from purchasing a grinder to ultimately returning and changing to a different grinder. It’s a tough decision buying without seeing or using and the fact that a business is willing to work with their customers goes a long way with me. I would definitely recommend Joe and EspressoOutlet.
