Colombian sweetness meets Kenyan fruit in Broadcast Crossfade, the roaster’s espresso-focused blend. The current profile names Huila and Kirinyaga origins, washed processing and a medium roast, with caramel and orange marmalade as its headline tasting references. It is a different espresso direction from a smoky dark blend, particularly when you want fruit to remain part of the shot.

Compare espresso, Americano and milk from one dial-in
Start with an 18 g dose if that suits your basket and aim for about 40 g espresso. Taste before changing the recipe, looking for caramel-like sweetness that supports the orange impression. If the shot runs unevenly, correct preparation and grind before drawing conclusions from the flavor.
Once the extraction is balanced, divide a subsequent shot for two serving tests: add hot water to one portion and milk to the other. Note the added amounts so you can repeat the version you prefer. This gives Crossfade’s fruit component a fair comparison across drinks without changing every variable at once.
Must Crossfade be used only for espresso?
Espresso is Broadcast’s recommended emphasis, but the store also lists drip and French-press preparations. Those formats allow another brewing approach without changing the named blend. Select whole beans when your espresso machine requires grind adjustments, and check the available preparation for your chosen bag size.
