A medium roast designed for cold brewing
Bendix Cold Brew Blend is a medium-roasted coffee blend developed around cold-water extraction. Bendix describes the resulting style as smooth and bold. The product is dry roasted coffee for customers to brew at home or in foodservice; it is not bottled cold brew and not a ready-made concentrate.
The blend origins, component percentages, producers, cultivars, elevations, post-harvest processes and specific tasting notes are not published. This page therefore centers on the documented roast, preparation purpose and format instead of assigning chocolate, fruit or nut flavors without support.
Available options are whole bean or Coarse in 12-ounce, one-pound and five-pound bags. Coarse is a convenient starting point for immersion and easier filtration. Whole bean allows control over particle size and lets customers adjust when their brewer, steep time or filtration setup requires a different grind.

Choose ready-to-drink or concentrate strength
For an initial ready-to-drink batch, combine 80 grams of coarse coffee with 800 grams of filtered water, a 1:10 brew ratio. Stir or agitate only enough to wet all grounds, cover and steep in the refrigerator for about 14–16 hours. Filter thoroughly, taste, and refrigerate the finished coffee. This is a practical starting point rather than a Bendix-mandated recipe.
For concentrate, try a stronger 1:5 ratio, such as 100 grams of coffee to 500 grams of water, then dilute the filtered result to taste. Record both the steeping ratio and final dilution. Otherwise two servings can taste different even when they came from the same batch.
If the cold brew tastes thin or sharply sour, extend contact modestly or grind slightly finer on the next batch. If the finish is woody, rough or drying, shorten the steep or use a coarser grind. Change one variable at a time. Cold extraction is not immune to over- or under-extraction simply because the water is cool.
Whole-bean buyers can use the Turin DF54 grinder to establish a repeatable coarse setting. Grinder numbers are not universal, and too many fine particles can slow filtration and increase sediment. The prepared Coarse option avoids that step when its particle size suits the chosen brewer.
Filtration, storage and hot-brew comparison
Use a fine-mesh filter followed by paper if you want greater clarity, or stop after metal filtration for more body and suspended material. Keep the prepared beverage refrigerated in a clean, covered container and make an amount you can use promptly. The product record does not provide a validated shelf-life for brewed coffee.
Choose 12 ounces for recipe testing, one pound for regular batches or five pounds for a high-volume setup. Keep unbrewed coffee sealed away from heat, light and moisture. Portion a bulk bag so the entire supply is not opened for every batch.
To compare the blend hot, use 30 grams of coffee to 480 grams of water in automatic drip and adjust from there. For a lighter hot-brewed Bendix blend, see Bendix Breakfast Blend. Browse the Specialty Coffee collection for other coffees matched to espresso, filter and immersion methods.
