A measured approach to a special coffee
The Blue Mountain name identifies the coffee’s origin; it does not mean that every brew will taste identical or have no acidity. Use the roaster’s chocolate and herbal notes as a guide, then adjust your preparation to preserve sweetness. This is roasted coffee ready for brewing, rather than green coffee for home roasting.
Brewing guidance
GABEE recommends Chemex, V60 or Kalita Wave. Start with a small, weighed brew so you can find your preferred strength before using more of the 200 g bag. Taste as the cup cools: aroma, sweetness and the herbal finish may become easier to distinguish.
For filter coffee, a useful starting recipe is 20 g coffee to 320 g water (1:16). Use a grind suited to the brewer. If the cup is thin and sharp, try a little finer; if it is drying and slow to drain, try a little coarser. Treat this as a starting point, not a product-specific tested recipe.
For whole-bean preparation, explore Turin coffee grinders and choose a model that supports your brew method.
