Overview

The 10 Inch Softener cartridge is a generic product with 15,000 PPM capacity. It is compatible with standard 10" filter housings and has a softening capability of 862 grains per gallon or 15,000 PPM. This equates to approximately 86 gallons of softened water before a replacement is necessary, making it a reliable choice for households with 10 grains of hardness per gallon.

Avoid purchasing a filter system that limits you to a single brand of filter or softener cartridge. Many popular filter systems only accept their own replacement cartridges, as they are designed specifically for their housing.

This is the replacement softener cartridge for the Softening & Filtration System we carry online.

The 10 Inch Softener should not be installed in-line before your espresso machine. Instead, always install a carbon filter afterwards. This filter has multiple benefits, including preventing softener resin from entering your machine, filtering out various particulates and contaminants in your water, and eliminating particles that can cause unpleasant odors or off-tastes in the water.

Note about water hardness

Using hard water will ruin your espresso machine. Soft water no higher than 50ppm is required to keep your espresso machine running for the long term. Using hard water will void the warranty.
