The Cup

This Organic medium/light roast is mellow and sweet with notes of milk chocolate, roasted almond, raisin, and a hint of citrus. Its medium body and gentle acidity make it smooth and approachable—perfect for savoring any time of day.

This cup will transport you to evenings around the fire in the northwoods of Minnesota. The sweet chocolate and smooth nutty flavors are reminiscent of golden brown s’mores and may inspire dreams of distant loon calls and waves crashing on the shore.

The Roast

To highlight the natural sweetness and complexity of this washed-process coffee, we crafted a roast profile designed to enhance its chocolate and nutty undertones while letting the subtle citrus and raisin notes shine. The result is a well-rounded and mellow cup that’s as versatile as it is flavorful—ideal for black coffee drinkers and those who enjoy a touch of cream alike.

The Cause

This coffee is not just a delightful cup—it’s Certified Organic and represents the resilience and innovation of Chiapas’ smallholder farmers. Chiapas is one of Mexico’s premier coffee-producing regions, where generations of farmers have embraced organic practices to conserve and revitalize the land. Despite challenges like coffee leaf rust and economic pressures, these farmers continue to uphold a rich tradition of excellence while contributing to the sustainability of their environment and livelihoods.

The Origin

  • Country: Mexico
  • Region: Motozintla, Sierra Madre de Chiapas
  • Farm: Various smallholders
  • Variety: Typica, Bourbon
  • Altitude: 1,200–1,750 meters above sea level
  • Processing: Washed
  • Certification: Certified Organic

Grown in the fertile highlands of Motozintla, Chiapas, this coffee thrives under the natural shade of the lush Sierra Madre de Chiapas forest canopy. Sharing the region’s volcanic soils and complex flavor characteristics with neighboring Huehuetenango, Guatemala, the Chiapas Highlands are renowned for producing exceptional organic coffee.

This washed-process coffee is a classic example of Chiapas’ agricultural excellence, with milk chocolate and almond notes supported by raisin sweetness and a bright citrus finish. It’s a true reflection of Mexico’s enduring legacy as a leader in organic Arabica coffee.

Great Service! It has been a few months since I purchased my machine, but I absolutely love it. Initially I had some issues with damage from shipping, but Joe took care of it immediately so there were no problems. He also stayed on the phone with me for a long time the day I received my machine so I could get everything working properly. I highly recommend!

Great customer service! Joe worked with me from purchasing a grinder to ultimately returning and changing to a different grinder. It’s a tough decision buying without seeing or using and the fact that a business is willing to work with their customers goes a long way with me. I would definitely recommend Joe and EspressoOutlet.
