Pegasus Italian Dark Roast Coffee
Pegasus Italian Roast follows a classic southern Italian-style dark profile. Washed coffees from Central and South America and the Asia-Pacific region, grown at 1,000–2,000 meters, produce smoky complexity with bourbon- and pipe-tobacco-like notes. Those are sensory comparisons; no bourbon infusion or tobacco ingredient is documented.

Brewing guidance
Try 20 g of coffee to 320 g of water at approximately 90–93°C. Use a medium grind for a paper-filter brew, wet the grounds evenly, and avoid extending the drawdown merely to make the cup stronger. If the finish is dry or harsh, try a slightly coarser grind before changing the dose.
Frequently asked questions
Is bourbon used to treat this coffee?
No bourbon treatment is stated. Bourbon and pipe tobacco are the roaster’s tasting references for this dark blend.
What flavor profile should I expect?
Smoky bourbon and pipe-tobacco notes. These are sensory descriptions; your brewing method and serving temperature affect their expression.
Which size and format should I choose?
12 oz, 2 lb or 5 lb. The current variant menu lists bag sizes only; no grind choice is shown.
How can I adjust the cup’s strength?
Change the brew ratio if the flavor is balanced but the drink is too weak or too strong. Use slightly more coffee for greater concentration. Change grind size when the issue is extraction, such as sourness or a dry finish.
Can I compare it with another coffee?
Yes. Keep coffee dose, water amount and brewer consistent, and taste both at a similar temperature. That makes roast, body and acidity easier to compare without confusing them with different strengths.
How should I keep it fresh?
Keep the coffee sealed away from heat, light and moisture. Grind whole beans shortly before brewing. Choose a bag size that fits your consumption so repeated opening does not expose a large supply to air.
Compare and prepare
Compare the profile with Italian Dark Roast Coffee Blend, or browse the Specialty Coffee collection.
If grinding whole beans, a Turin DF54 grinder lets you adjust particle size between brews. Record the setting with your dose and water amount so the next cup is easier to repeat.
