2021 Updates
• Easy to access boiler drain
• Yellow heating light, which replaced the red one
• On / Off switch, which replaced 3 position switch
• No more low water audible alert. Machine will be inoperable when out of water with an "A" code displayed on PID
• Expansion value location
PID Controlled
As of April of 2020, the Quick Mill Carola is PID controlled. With the PID controller, the single 0.75-liter insulated T.E.A. coated boiler is more temperature stable. Increased temperature stability means better flavor every single time. Consistency with the Carola is easy as well!
Auto-Off
The Carola Evo now has a built-in shot timer and is equipped with an 'Eco timer'. The 'Eco timer' gives the machine the ability to turn off the heating circuit when the machine sits idle when not in use for the set time. The timer has a range of a minimum of 10 minutes to a maximum of 240 minutes (4 Hours).
Built-In PID with Shot Timer
The built-in shot timer of the PID provides insight into potential factors that may affect the flavor of your espresso. By monitoring the decrease in shot time and weakened shots, you can determine if your grind is too coarse and adjust accordingly. This feature is invaluable for troubleshooting flavor issues. Find the PID with a built-in shot timer on the lower right-hand side above the drip tray.
E61 Group
The Quick Mill Carola employs the tried and tested E61 group design, known for its durability and reliability. This group has been used in espresso machines, including the Carola, for over fifty years due to its effectiveness and easy availability of replacement parts.
Stainless Steel Mushroom & Gicleur
The E61 group on the Quick Mill Carola has been improved, specifically with a stainless steel mushroom and gicleur to address a common issue with the commercial-grade 58mm group. The previous plated mushroom and gicleur tended to accumulate scale and require frequent cleaning or replacement. These updates make the Carola even more reliable and durable.
Quick & Quiet
Once you've set up the Quick Mill Carola, simply switch to position one on the three-position switch and wait for the boiler to fill. Once filled, switch to the third position and the machine's powerful heating element will quickly warm up the boiler, allowing you to make your first coffee in minutes. Thanks to the insulating materials and PID technology, the Carola will maintain the perfect temperature throughout your use, eliminating any wait time. After the initial set-up, all you need to do is turn on the Carola in position three and you're ready to brew.
Quiet Vibratory Pump
As the Carola's reservoir, located at the back, fills the boiler, you'll appreciate its quietness. Thanks to the 52-watt Ulka pump with a pulsar, this machine is quieter than most espresso machines. An added safety feature is the Klixon, which shuts off power to the pump if it were to overheat, preventing damage.
Easily Adjust Your Pump Pressure
Easily modify pump pressure by accessing the expansion valve beneath the removable cup warming tray. Insert a back flush disk, lift the cam lever, and rotate (with a flathead screw driver) clockwise or counterclockwise to adjust the pressure to your desired output.
