Wendougee Data S Electrical Requirements: 20A NEMA 5-20 Setup
The Wendougee Data S will not run on a standard 15A circuit. The US model is rated at 110V and 2200W and ships with a NEMA 5-20 plug, so the receptacle, breaker, and branch-circuit wiring must all be suitable for 20A service.
Check the entire circuit
- A 20A receptacle alone does not upgrade undersized wiring or a 15A breaker.
- The espresso machine should not share the circuit with a kettle, microwave, toaster oven, refrigerator, or other high-draw appliance.
- Do not use a plug adapter to fit the machine into a 5-15 outlet.
- A household extension cord or power strip is not a substitute for a correctly located receptacle.
Have a qualified electrician verify the circuit before ordering the Wendougee Data S. Local electrical codes and required GFCI protection vary by location, particularly near water.
Plan outlet placement
The machine is about 19.25 inches deep, so a plug and cord directly behind it can increase the required counter depth. Keep the connection accessible but protected from splashes, steam, sharp bends, and heat. Do not pinch the cord against the wall.
