Tasting and preparation
The one-pound format makes it practical to compare roast choices without committing to a bulk order. Try medium and dark with an unchanged drip recipe, then note how the caramel and fruit impressions shift. Select regular or decaf separately from the roast level; those are different decisions, and the name Colombian describes origin rather than caffeine content.

A measured starting recipe
For a filter-brew starting point, measure 20 g coffee and 320 g water, a 1:16 brew ratio by mass. Use a grind appropriate for your filter and keep the bed evenly saturated. If the cup is balanced but weak, increase the coffee dose slightly; if it is sour or dry, adjust extraction through grind size before changing several variables at once.
More preparation and product questions
Where does this coffee come from?
Colombia.
What roast profile is listed?
T.M. Ward Coffee Company.
What cup or flavor profile is described?
Medium body, soft acidity, caramel, vanilla, tropical fruit and berry notes.
Which formats are listed?
1 lb; regular or decaf; whole bean or multiple ground settings. Check the current selection menu for the available combinations.
How do I adjust strength without losing balance?
Change the coffee-to-water ratio when the flavor is balanced but the cup is too weak or concentrated. Use grind adjustments when the problem is extraction, keeping dose and water quantity constant for comparison.
Should I judge the coffee only while piping hot?
Taste again as the cup cools toward a comfortable drinking temperature. Sweetness, acidity, body and finish may become easier to distinguish before you decide how to adjust the next brew.
