Compact Two-Group Capacity for a Working Coffee Bar

The Rocket Boxer 2 Group is a volumetric heat-exchange espresso machine for cafés, restaurants, bakeries, coffee trailers and hospitality bars that need two-group throughput in a comparatively compact body. It combines automatic portion control with Rocket's thermosiphon group system, a large copper boiler and a practical stainless-steel cabinet.

Each group can run programmed espresso volumes so the barista can start a shot and move to milk or the next order. Manual control remains available for rinsing, dialing in and nonstandard recipes. This listing is for the two-group standard-height Boxer, not the separate one-group or tall-cup Boxer Timer listings.

Bar Workflow Features

  • Two groups: prepare shots in parallel during busy periods.
  • Volumetric dosing: improves repeatability and frees the barista to multitask.
  • Thermosiphon circulation: supports group temperature stability during service.
  • 13.2 L copper boiler: supplies brewing water, steam and hot water for a commercial bar.
  • Cool-touch steam wands: help reduce burn risk and baked-on milk residue.
  • Automatic cleaning cycle: simplifies routine backflushing at close.
  • Stainless-steel body: durable, wipeable surfaces for daily commercial use.

Who the Boxer Is Designed For

The Boxer is most compelling when counter width matters but a single group would limit service. It suits low- to medium-volume cafés, restaurants with a real espresso program, compact hotel bars and mobile operations with suitable electrical, water and drain infrastructure. Very high-volume specialty cafés may benefit from a multi-boiler platform with independent brew temperatures and more advanced diagnostics.

Installation Planning

Water quality is part of the installation, not an afterthought. Test the incoming supply and use treatment sized for local hardness and expected volume. Scale damage is preventable and may not be covered by warranty. See our water-hardness guide.

Confirm the final manufacturer's cut sheet before rough-in. Provide a dedicated electrical circuit, an accessible water shutoff, treatment bypass or isolation as appropriate, and a drain arranged to local code. Leave service clearance around the machine; the published machine dimensions do not include hoses, fittings or working room.

Cleaning and Preventive Care

Backflush each group daily with water and on the detergent schedule specified by Rocket. Purge and wipe steam wands after every use, soak baskets and portafilters appropriately, clean the drain tray, and monitor boiler pressure and water quality. A preventive-maintenance relationship with a qualified commercial espresso technician is essential.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this the tall-cup Boxer?

No. This product is the standard-height two-group configuration. Choose a tall-cup listing when 12–16 oz takeaway cups must fit beneath the group without transferring espresso.

Does it have individual brew boilers?

No. The Boxer uses a large heat-exchange boiler and thermosiphon groups. For independent brew-boiler PID control, compare Rocket's multi-boiler commercial models.

Can both groups brew while milk is steaming?

Yes, that is the intended commercial workflow, subject to recovery, electrical configuration and demand.

Does volumetric dosing guarantee the same beverage every time?

It repeats water delivery, but grind, dose, distribution, tamp, coffee age and recipe still need active management.

What else is needed for installation?

Plan for a suitable grinder, water treatment, knock box, pitcher rinser if desired, drain, dedicated circuit and access for delivery. Browse commercial espresso grinders and the full commercial machine collection.

Note about water hardness

Using hard water will ruin your espresso machine. Soft water no higher than 50ppm is required to keep your espresso machine running for the long term. Using hard water will void the warranty.
