Note about water hardness
Using hard water will ruin your espresso machine. Soft water no higher than 50ppm is required to keep your espresso machine running for the long term. Using hard water will void the warranty.

As I stated in my review of the Turin kettle, I recently wanted to start with pour-overs. I’ve been an espresso purist and love my Turin df54 grinder for espresso. I didn’t want to keep switching grind sizes tho so was looking at hand grinders for my v60’s. When Turin released the h40 v2, I loved the design and blind shaker feature. Partnered with the Turin kettle, this grinder has been amazing in my search for the perfect drip cup!

I haven’t used it for espresso yet so I can’t speak on the functionality of the removal bottom piece.
I’m using this for aeropress as that’s when manual grinding is necessary for my needs.
This thing works very well! Incredible fluffy consistent grind for a conical burr. My only complaint is that the bottom grind chamber is solely attached with magnets. The magnets are strong but the first two times I used this device grinded with two both arms and the grinds cup would detach and drop to the floor with my grinds all over the rug. So you need to used one arm to stabilize and one arm to rotate the crank in order to operate this thing. I wish it just screwed on 🤷🏻♂️

Looking at the burr I expected reduced fines, something producing unimodal ground distribution. This unfortunately didn’t deliver on that front but it did in fact do fantastic on the workflow portion of being a grinder! The external grind adjustment, magnetic catch cup and blind shaker are fantastic and the grinder is built like a tank!
