The Nuova Simonelli Appia Life Compact puts two raised group heads into a 22-inch-wide commercial espresso machine. It is designed for cafes, restaurants, bakeries, mobile coffee operations, and service counters that need two-group workflow without the width of a full-size machine. This page combines the five current Compact configurations while keeping incompatible choices out of the selector.
Why choose the Appia Life Compact?
The Compact preserves the practical Appia Life platform in a smaller footprint: two groups, two steam positions, a hot-water outlet, Soft Infusion System (SIS), cool-touch steam wands, and elevated group heads for taller takeaway cups. Choose semi-automatic dosing for direct barista control, volumetric dosing for repeatable programmed portions, or volumetric with AutoSteam when consistent milk texturing and easier staff training are priorities.
Five valid factory configurations
| Dosing | Power | Steam system | SKU |
|---|---|---|---|
| Semi-Automatic | 220V | Manual steam | MAPPC19SEM02ND0001 |
| Volumetric | 110V | Manual steam | MAPPC19VOL02ND0002 |
| Volumetric | 220V | Manual steam | MAPPC19VOL02ND0001 |
| Volumetric | 110V | AutoSteam | MAPPC19VOL02ND0004 |
| Volumetric | 220V | AutoSteam | MAPPC19VOL02ND0003 |
Important: the semi-automatic Compact is a 220V build. AutoSteam is offered only with volumetric dosing. Select the complete power and steam combination shown above rather than treating those choices as interchangeable accessories.

Water quality requirements
Use filtration sized for the site. Nuova Simonelli specifies hardness no higher than 3 gpg/50 ppm, filtration below 1 micron, TDS of 50-250 ppm, alkalinity of 10-150 ppm, chlorine below 0.50 ppm, and pH of 6.5-8.5. Water outside those limits can create scale or corrosion and can affect warranty coverage.
What is included?
The manual lists the machine, tamper, single basket, double baskets and blind baskets by group count, springs and portafilters, double and single spouts, a 3/8-inch inlet hose, and a 25 mm drain hose. Final installation should be performed by qualified tradespeople and comply with local electrical, plumbing, and backflow-prevention codes.
Factory colors and project options
Black is the standard presentation. Red or pearl-white side panels can be specified through the factory program. Water filtration and installation planning are separate project choices; contact us before ordering if you need help matching the machine, grinder, filtration, and electrical plan.

Frequently asked questions
Can the Compact operate on a standard 110V outlet?
Only the 110V volumetric configurations use a NEMA 5-15 receptacle. The semi-automatic Compact and all 220V Compact versions require the specified NEMA 6-20 circuit.
Is the Compact a portable or pour-over machine?
No. Every version requires a dedicated water connection and gravity drain.
