Note about water hardness
Using hard water will ruin your espresso machine. Soft water no higher than 50ppm is required to keep your espresso machine running for the long term. Using hard water will void the warranty.
Its a great value for a grinder, and one that might be in the top tier as a travel grinder. The one easily correctable issue is the pint glass looking cup that comes with it. It really needs to be paired with a true dosing cup, but to do that you need a "highchair" for the dosing cup. If you have a 3D printer I've got one loaded on printables at https://www.printables.com/model/1363325-turin-dm47-coffee-grinder-highchair-shaker-stand that should fit a few (one linked for $11.xx that works well) dosing cups.
Before purchasing the DM47, I used my TIMEMORE Chestnut C3S Pro Manual Coffee Grinder for all my coffee grinding. I make 72 ozs of cold brew per week with my AeroPress XL and hand-ground all the beans. After a lot of research, I chose the DM47 for the conical burrs to match the results of my TIMEMORE.
The DM47 was easy to dial in by comparing the grinds side by side. Retention is minimal as long as you use the bellow as you grind and mist your beans. Some beans will still stick, and you must have a brush or similar object to push the beans into the burs. The bar across the opening will hold some beans when pouring in 30 grams of beans, I have not had an issue with 15 grams. I turn the grinder on before dumping the beans in with a dosing cup.
Speed is excellent for my use and has cut my brewing time by half. The grinder is quiet. The cord with the transformer, due to being 12-volt compatible, can get in the way, but the cord is of sufficient length.
Clean up is easy except for the outer walls of the burrs, the section with the numbers, tens to retain ground coffee. It takes some time to clean them completely with a brush. The air puffer is ok, but does not move much air. The bellows do retain coffee grounds and are nearly impossible to clean totally.
The dosing cup will easily hold 30 grams of ground coffee.
I like it but it has a learning curve. The directions are a joke. Videos online helped some, but there needs to be a better one on dialing in the grind settings. It really is zero retention which will help a lot in not having to take it apart to clean it. Trying to get it back to your preferred grind is a trial in patience.
I like this grinder and I really enjoyed my coffee with the stock burrs.
Solidly built, compact, quiet, easy to clean, wonderful grind profile for pour over. I had high expectations that were exceeded on every point. If it disappeared I would immediately buy another

Let customers speak for us
from 956 reviewsI’m very pleased with my purchase. It has extremely low retention.

Love the build quality of this product. Feels so heavy duty. The only thing is the wood top to rubber part seems to me like it could wear out, maybe if it was a magnet it would feel more heavy duty.

Quick and Amazing customer service - Love this espresso grinder

Responsive customer support. Very helpful and today is a holiday! I’ve bought two of their Turin grinders, and am pleased with the products and the customer service now more than a year later.
These guys have been great. Bought my DF64v from them and they have been quick to respond with any questions I have had. I highly recommend.
I inquired about a replacement wood lid that cracked because I dropped it multiple times on my Turin SK40 single dose grinder and Espresso Outlet sent me a new one free of charge. They didn’t even charge me shipping. Now that’s customer service!!! Thanks so much!!! I will buy again from you when I’m in need of your products.
Great product and fast shipping.
Bought an Opened Box DF54 and it is like new!
Highly recommended 👍
As a beginner, I was wanting a grinder that will stop my itch from constant upgrades until I purchase my end game set up. What I need right now is something to practice with and this was perfect. Dialing my espresso with DF54 has been a delight. I feel like I’m getting the most out of my bean's flavors. It’s sturdy, easy to clean, straightforward. There was some frustration with queueing up for the preorder but it was worth it. I’m glad i’m not telling myself, “I wish I got that other grinder.”. I will be using this for a long time until I get my La Marzocco. For the meantime, I’m happy to pair it with my Breville Bambino Plus.

Great grinder really happy wit it.

Thank you, Joe, for the quality service and helping me troubleshoot my coffee grinder issue. EO's responses were prompt and informative.
I purchased a Turin DF64 Gen 2 grinder from Seoul, South Korea, and my experience with Espresso LLC was outstanding.
Within couple of hour of placing my order, I was contacted by Mr. Steve White from Espresso LLC, who informed me that the express delivery option I had chosen was temporarily unavailable and assured me that the extra fee would be refunded. He also provided clear guidance on delivery and import duties which I was responsible for handling.
The entire process was handled exceptionally well. The grinder arrived almost as quickly as with express shipping, and my refund was processed within a week. Throughout every stage, Mr. White’s communication and follow-up were thorough and professional.
This was the most seamless and hassle-free international purchase I have ever experienced. I highly recommend Espresso LLC to anyone considering their products.
