I purchased a Turin R Gallatin, and from the very beginning, the experience was outstanding. Unfortunately, UPS damaged my machine during shipping. I want to be very clear that this was not Espresso Outlet’s fault in any way. Shipping damage can happen, and what truly matters is how a company responds when it does.
Joe and Barrett went far beyond anything I expected. Instead of making me jump through hoops or wait around, they immediately took ownership of helping me. Joe personally drove my replacement machine to the UPS terminal in less than 24 hours to get it moving as quickly as possible, and Espresso Outlet even paid to expedite the shipment at their own expense. That level of customer service is almost unheard of today.
As for the Turin R Gallatin, I couldn’t be happier. The build quality is exceptional, and it feels like a machine that belongs in a commercial café while still fitting beautifully into a home coffee bar. The rotary pump is whisper quiet, the E61 group head provides excellent temperature stability, the PID temperature control gives precise brewing control, and the flow control opens the door to experimenting with different coffees and extraction styles. The machine consistently produces rich, syrupy shots with beautiful caramel-colored crema and outstanding flavor. It truly punches way above its price point and delivers features and performance that you’d expect from machines costing considerably more.
If you’re looking for a company that stands behind what they sell, responds when things don’t go as planned, and genuinely cares about their customers, buy from Espresso Outlet with confidence. The Turin R Gallatin is an outstanding machine, and Espresso Outlet has earned my business for years to come.
Thank you, Joe, Barrett, and the entire Espresso Outlet team. You’ve earned a customer for life
Great unit! The Gallatine DB is solid. Very heavy duty, the housing is well constructed with thick metal and a very high quality finish. Everyone that sees it is amazed. Makes awesome espresso, but needs a very fine grind and some serious tamping. I have my old Rocky Grinder set at 1 and I'm finally getting good results. I've been happily using my Rancillo Silvia for the last 20 years, but so super excited to move up to a double boiler. Will never go back. Well worth the extra cost for the double boiler. The machine is an excellent value.
Super fast shipping. Absolutely no static with this grinder while doing fine grind espresso shots. Does very well with coarse grinds as well with no mess. Retention is crazy good, out of 30 grinds so far what I have put in is exactly what I have got back. Do not hesitate on this one. Now I need the C83 for testing!
Nothing out there now with big 83 conicals and a solid build like this for home. Heat low and fast grind at 280 RPM. Aesthetically pleasing. Grateful espresso outlet brought it to market. Just what I needed! Thanks so much.
Showed up in great working order. I’m still learning how to dial it in. Likely need a DF54 or 64 in the near future so I can try some lighter roasts. My oxo grinder is incapable. All that to say I am happily building my espresso workstation around this machine. That should say a lot.
Out of the box, the Wendougee Lita LA is great. I've yet to explore the pressure profiling functionality, but still, I've never experienced a machine of this quality at home. The boilers heat quickly, the steam wand is lively, and it's strangely difficult to mess up a shot. I would argue that the experience is better than working on a commercial LaMarzocco or Slayer.
There are drawbacks. First, the grouphead does not provide a ton of room for the portafilter to fully seat. It can be difficult to have enough room to steam milk with a portafilter handle in your way. The tank is also small and difficult to clean. There's no way to get a sponge / towel in to properly scrub the entirety of the interior, and the geometry of the tank makes it nearly impossible to get a brush throughout the interior, meaning you should clean it often and thoroughly with soap and a bottle brush.
The major drawback is the lack of replacement parts. When you're buying a Gaggia Classic Pro or a Lelit Bianca, you're buying into a robust ecosystem of replacement parts and repair services. I trust the build quality of this machine, but I do not trust this tank or any pump indefinitely. If there is not adoption of Wendougee products in the USA, the opportunities for home services will not flourish.
TL;DR: It's a great machine to brew and learn about espresso... with some long-term concerns.
Grinds well, but has a whinny burr squeal noise that is intermittent and if you mive the dial to the left or right and then back it foes away. Checked burr alignment and they rub evenly so not sure wgat the issue is - hopefully it wirks itseyout and goes away soon. Would be nuce if the dial knob was knurled like a weight lifting barbell becasue turning it is a real workout especially down at the espresso level.
The item I received seems defective. The water doesn't go into the boilers but overflows to the draining tray. I've tried both external water supply and the water tank. Same issue. The only difference is the water tank filling will stop with the display flashing "E-7" while external water just keeps going and never stops.
The display doesn't seem to respond to the button presses. When the water is being pumped it ignores any button presses.
I don't think the machine has a good design when it powers on it starts work immediately without any self-check process and any start/stop button.
It is sad to encounter all these when I had high expectation on this espresso machine.
This is an amazing grinder. Small, quiet, single serve and clean (doesn't make a mess with grinds on counter). An amazing value, very heavy duty. Bellows gets rid of lagging grinds.
Espresso Outlet has great products that you can trust. And at a very fair price!
