The Alexia Evo, by Quick Mill, is an ideal combination of contemporary and traditional elements, taking inspiration from the Eliane single boiler espresso machine. Its remarkable temperature control and stability, along with the reliable 58mm E61 group, make it an unparalleled value for its compact size. With the Alexia Evo, you'll effortlessly master the art of being a barista in mere minutes.

Highlights

The Quick Mill Alexia Evo espresso machine is a modern, temperature-controlled version of the late Eliane single-boiler machine. With its high-quality #304 stainless steel construction and commercial 58mm E61 group, this prosumer-grade machine is designed with longevity and consistent performance in mind. The thermosyphon system helps maintain the brew temperature of all components, while the use of low-lead brass, including in the E61 group, ensures durability and quality. From the initial unboxing to regular use for decades, the Alexia Evo delivers exceptional results for any home espresso enthusiast.

PID with Built-In Shot Timer

The Quick Mill Alexia Evo espresso machine enhances the already popular features of Elaine, with a built-in shot timer PID that greatly improves the temperature stability of the single boiler. For espresso enthusiasts who occasionally enjoy milk-based drinks like lattes, cappuccinos, or cortados, this is a crucial addition. Accurate temperature control from shot to shot is essential, as even a one-degree variation can make a significant difference in the taste of your espresso. This feature is a necessity for any home espresso machine.

Insulated Single Boiler

The Quick Mill Alexia Evo features a PID with an integrated shot timer, as well as a T.E.A coated single boiler that is fully insulated for reduced heat loss. With Quick Mill's patented T.E.A. coating, the chance of low-lead brass boiler metal leaching into the coffee is further reduced. Plus, the boiler drains can be easily accessed without having to remove any panels, making it hassle-free to transport or ship the machine for service.

No Burn Steam Arm

The Quick Mill Alexia Evo espresso machine is designed to prevent burns with a no-burn steam arm that is fully articulated and swivels in all directions. The easy-to-use valve is non-compression and helps create comfortable movements for stretching and moving the steaming pitcher while making latte art. Additionally, the machine comes with a two-hole steam tip that increases the intensity of the steam, giving you enough time to perfect your micro-foam without overheating your milk.

Using the Quick Mill Alexia

Upon unboxing the Quick Mill Alexia Evo espresso machine, you will first encounter the three-position switch on the upper right-hand corner of the machine, located just below the manometer. This multi-functional device displays both brew pressure and steam pressure, and can be easily adjusted by accessing the expansion valve underneath the warming tray. Not only does this switch act as a power switch, but it also helps to protect the machine's heating element during initial start up, making it a cost-saving measure. When the switch is in the center position, the machine is powered off. To begin, fill the three-liter BPA-free water reservoir by lifting the hinged top cover of the cup warmer and switching the machine to the left (1) position. This will allow the boiler to fill, and once hot water is exiting the E61 group, you can switch the three-position switch to the right (2) position to power on the machine and begin heating. After the boiler has been filled initially, simply switch

Pulling a Shot of Espresso

After you’ve set-up the Quick Mill Alexia Evo and your PID with built-in shot timer to read your desired temperature (usually around 198 degrees Fahrenheit) you’re ready to pull your first shot of espresso coffee! The beauty of the PID is that you always know what the internal temperature of your boiler is, increasing shot-to-shot consistency within a fraction of a degree! Once you’ve ground your coffee with an espresso grinder like the Ceado E37J E5P, Eureka Mignon Specialita, or Rocket Faustino and tamped with a tamper like a wood and stainless steel 58mm tamper you’re halfway to some of the best espresso coffee you’ve had! Lock your portafilter into the commercial E61 group and lift the semi-automatic cam (brew) lever. Your built-in PID with a shot timer will start to count up until the brew (cam) lever is pushed back towards the front of the machine. You’re shooting for anywhere between 20-30 seconds per shot: if your shot is short of that you’ll have to make your grind a little finer and if your shot is longer than 20-30 seconds you’ll have to make your grind a little coarser.

Making a Latte, Cappuccino, etc.

Once your machine reaches the proper temperature and the boiler is filled, it's time to prepare your milk for steaming before pulling your espresso shot. To begin, turn on the third switch from the top and allow hot water to flush through the steam wand until steam begins to appear. Once steam is present, begin steaming your milk. After steaming, you can proceed to make your espresso. Lower the temperature by turning on the brew switch and engage the brew lever until hot water is released from the group. Now, you are ready to pull a shot of espresso with just a few simple steps.
