Bird Friendly Coffee from Nicaragua

The product is certified Bird Friendly by the Smithsonian Migratory Bird Center, a rigorous shade-grown standard that also requires organic production and traceability. Its traditional washed processing supports a clean, balanced expression of the three stated cultivars. Each package also benefits American Birding Association programs. What to Expect in the Cup

Expect sweetness without added sugar, moderate brightness and a silky texture rather than a heavy dark-roast body. Maracaturra, Caturra and Catuaí contribute to a composed, classic Nicaraguan profile. If the cup is sour, grind finer; if it becomes dry, grind coarser.

Brewing Recommendations

  • Pour-over: start at 1:16 with a medium-fine grind.
  • Automatic drip: use about 60 grams per liter for a balanced breakfast cup.
  • French press: use a coarse grind near 1:15 for more texture.
  • Espresso: begin around 1:2.2 to preserve sweetness and acidity.

Use these recipes as starting points. Water chemistry, coffee age, grinder geometry and brewer design all affect extraction. Keep dose and water constant while changing grind size so each adjustment gives useful feedback.

Whole Bean and Ground Options

Whole bean offers the most control and generally protects aroma longer. Choose a ground option only when it matches the brewer named in the selector. Pre-ground espresso cannot be matched perfectly to every basket, dose and machine, so whole bean is preferable when precise dialing is important.

Great Service! It has been a few months since I purchased my machine, but I absolutely love it. Initially I had some issues with damage from shipping, but Joe took care of it immediately so there were no problems. He also stayed on the phone with me for a long time the day I received my machine so I could get everything working properly. I highly recommend!

Great customer service! Joe worked with me from purchasing a grinder to ultimately returning and changing to a different grinder. It’s a tough decision buying without seeing or using and the fact that a business is willing to work with their customers goes a long way with me. I would definitely recommend Joe and EspressoOutlet.
