Clear Lake Cowboy combines medium- and dark-roasted coffee rather than presenting one uniform roast level. The roaster centers the profile on cocoa, caramel and vanilla, with baking-spice, toasted-nut and dark-berry impressions also described. The combination is intended to preserve sweetness while adding the deeper roast character needed to remain noticeable in milk.

The blend origins, farms, producer groups, cultivars, processes and component percentages are not published. Medium-dark in the title summarizes the mixed-roast construction; it does not establish that every bean reached the same final color. The flavor terms are sensory descriptions, not a claim that vanilla, cocoa, nuts, berries or spices were added.

If the black cup is thin or sharply sour, move finer. If it is ashy, drying or excessively bitter, move coarser or try slightly cooler water. Roast development increases solubility in the darker component, so a recipe copied from a light roast may extract too aggressively. Change one variable at a time.

For espresso, start with a basket-appropriate dose and approximately twice that mass as beverage yield. Taste before building a cappuccino or latte. A slightly shorter ratio can increase concentration for milk, while a longer ratio may improve balance if a short shot is harsh.
