The Turin SD40 V2 is a single dose grinder that uses bellows and a tilted base to reduce retention. It has 40mm stainless steel conical burrs and a sturdy aluminum body. Version 2 is very similar to version 1, but has improved burrs and a adjustment dial sticker that has been updated.

Most grinders in the price range of this grinder are made with plastic, smaller burrs, ceramic burrs and are not very well built and have high retention. This grinder is well built with mostly metal construction and low retention. We are excited to be the exclusive US importer for this product and we think it will do very well when compared to other grinders in it’s price range. It compares well against the Breville Smart grinder, Ascaso grinders, Baratza grinders, Fellow grinders, and blade grinders. In terms of noise level it is quieter than a lot of the grinders in it's price range.

Note about water hardness

Using hard water will ruin your espresso machine. Soft water no higher than 50ppm is required to keep your espresso machine running for the long term. Using hard water will void the warranty.

Very solid grinder for the price

This grinder is well priced for the features and functions that it provides. It can easily be modified to make it a stepless grinder if that is desired. All in all very happy with my purchase.

Great starter grinder

I bought this about a month ago as my first espresso grinder, paired with the Breville Bambino as my first "real" espresso machine (previously had a cheaper machine and used pre-ground with a pressurized basket).

After having used it for a month, I can say I'm happy with it and will not be getting a different grinder for a while. It's at a great price for my budget and I am pulling some great espresso shots! The bellows are nice to make sure all the grinds come out, and a brush was included that helps with cleaning. The sound isn't very loud either and the construction is all metal and very sturdy.

This grinder is exactly what I wanted, but I do have one complaint. The adjustment dial has notches that click on place, but the adjustment steps are larger than the dashed lines between the numbers. One step is about equal to 2.5 dashed lines (about half the distance to the next whole number), but it's just a tad bit more. As a result, I can step up from about a 2.7 setting to a 3.2 and then to a 3.8, but can't go anywhere between. It's definitely a flaw worth mentioning, but I am still able to dial in to a good grind size and get pretty consistent results.

This grinder works so well for espresso and has multiple settings for espresso. It grinds so fast and cleans easily

Does exactly what I needed it to do!

I was looking for a grinder with enough range to cover my espresso needs and really enjoy the simplicity of this machine. The bellow works well too.

However I don't know what the red button does on the side of the base. Lol.

My order shipped quickly and was better in price than others.

It's been a while since I've ordered from an online retailer other than Amazon, and have no regrets with the experience. I actually feel better about my purchase knowing that I am supporting smaller businesses.
