What does "Sealed" mean?  The innovative negative pressure sealed bean chamber combines direct fire heating and hot air circulation system.  You not only have direct fire heating but now a more uniform effect with hot air circulation.

M6 Pro vs M10 Pro: Which Capacity Should You Choose?

Choose the roaster around the batch sizes you expect to use regularly, not only the largest batch you might roast occasionally. Both Pro models use Artisan on a customer-supplied computer and provide adjustable heat, fan and drum speed.

Buying factor M6 Pro M10 Pro
Rated green-coffee batch range 200–700g 300–1,200g
Best fit Serious home roasting, sample work and frequent smaller batches Larger home batches, small-business development and users who need more output per roast
Roast control Adjustable heat, fan and drum speed Adjustable heat, fan and drum speed
Software Artisan on the user’s compatible computer; tablet not included Artisan on the user’s compatible computer; tablet not included
Electrical version on this page 120V; dedicated 20A circuit required 120V; dedicated 20A circuit required
Primary advantage Lower price and smaller practical batch range Up to 1.2kg capacity and greater output per batch
Primary tradeoff Lower maximum output Larger investment and a 300g listed minimum batch

Choose the M6 Pro if most batches will fall between 200g and 700g. Choose the M10 Pro if the ability to roast up to 1.2kg will regularly save time or support your intended output.

Pro or Dual System?

The Pro model is designed for Artisan control on a customer-supplied compatible computer. A tablet is not included. The Dual System model is the better choice for customers who want both Artisan connectivity and the Kaleido control system. Compare the M6 Dual System before ordering if standalone Kaleido control is important.

Before You Order the M6 Pro

  • Electrical: This listing is for a 120V roaster requiring a dedicated 20A circuit with no other loads. Have a licensed electrician verify the circuit and receptacle when there is any uncertainty.
  • Heating-element installation: The heating elements ship uninstalled and must be installed before roasting. Follow the heating-element installation guide.
  • Required tool: A 4mm metric Allen wrench is needed and is not included.
  • Computer and software: The Pro model requires the user to supply a compatible computer for Artisan. Confirm the planned computer, connection and current software setup before the roaster arrives.
  • Ventilation: Coffee roasting creates heat, smoke, odor and chaff. Plan appropriate ventilation and follow applicable building, fire and food-business requirements for the installation location.
  • Batch capacity: Published capacity refers to green-coffee charge weight. Select a roaster whose normal operating range matches the batches you plan to roast most often.

The Version 2 “sealed” design uses a negative-pressure bean chamber combining direct infrared heating with hot-air circulation. It is also referred to as the Version 2 or S model.

It is highly recommended to consult with a licensed electrician to ensure that the electrical circuit and outlet used for these roasters meet the necessary requirements for safe and optimal operation. Attempting to operate these roasters on an inappropriate electrical circuit or outlet may cause electrical overload and potentially result in equipment damage or electrical hazards.
