Using hard water will ruin your espresso machine. Soft water no higher than 50ppm is required to keep your espresso machine running for the long term. Using hard water will void the warranty.
Just received this grinder and using it is terrible. The grinds get stuck in the chute and everywhere. My husband already took it apart to clean it and it clogged up again. Will be returning it as it is completely unusable.
Fast. Clean. Easy to dial in. Low retention. Very happy with the new grinder. I bought it as an upgrade from the DF54. Significant improvement.
Have also had a Turin DF64, DF83 and still have a DF64V v1. Will mention that I tried a niche for a month or two when it was so highly rated and never quite got what it’s appeal was. The DF83V is my favorite. The workflow is the same as any other SD grinder, but the factory DLC burrs at 1000 RPM produce clump free grounds and the taste from my shots is the best of all the SD grinders I’ve had. I use medium dark roast beans and make primarily lattes and caps. The DF83V is very easy to live with, low maintenance, ease of use and great tasting coffee.
I’ve had it about a year. The amount of grounds that get everywhere from static is high. It also gets clogged relatively often and you need to take it apart and clean it. I’m probably not taking advantage of the small grind size it can achieve but I wish I had gotten something that didn’t require so much maintenance.

Did you order from us? We can't seem to find your order or any correspondence. It sounds like you may need a new declumper. If you did order from us, reach out and we'll send you a new one and work to get your grinder running great again. A can of compressed air will save you a lot of frustration as the chute has an area at the top the brush can't reach. Give it a blast inside the chute every so often and it will keep it running smooth.

I had delayed buying a high-quality grinder as I was unsure if it really made a difference. The difference in the cup of coffee is markedly better. The grinder itself is very well built, sturdy and does have quite a bit of weight. Very pleased with the purchase and Expresso Outlet. A nice sidekick to the Kaleido Roaster.
