It's not often that we get a microlot that is fully traceable to one farm, so it feels really special to source this coffee from Arabela Pereira Lima and her beautiful farm, Nova Esperanca, which means New Hope. This has the balanced and nutty flavors you know and love from Brazilian coffees but has a bit of tart apple acidity that brings this offering to life.

Arabela is a part of the

Café Delas program, which

was created to help women farmers access the resources, knowledge, and voice they need to grow their operations to its fullest potential. Café Delas coffee is sold at a 5 cent premium which is shared with the women in cash and or equipment and training to increase quality in both the cup and farm practices.

“It all started during my childhood when I used to accompany my mother, Leda, to the farm and later she encouraged me to attend the college of agronomy. From there to now the interest has become a passion and I can’t imagine myself working with any other thing. The desire to stay in the profession comes from knowing that I never know everything, there is always a new knowledge to be tested, it is always dynamic. Also, the satisfaction of being able to please several people with my work, that’s something priceless to me."

Note about water hardness

Using hard water will ruin your espresso machine. Soft water no higher than 50ppm is required to keep your espresso machine running for the long term. Using hard water will void the warranty.
