The grinder is extremely slow. It keeps on stalling on a medium roast coffee. After all the wait and fiddling with the grind setting, it still can't deliver a decent shot. The espresso were watery and sour, but it keeps on stalling if you want to go finer. Drastic contrast when i compared it with my small compact grinders (lagom mini o and even my 1zpresso j-max).
It is a very fine piece of equipment. Well made & a big step up from a German hand grinder I’ve been using for 15 years, nearly every morning! Medium-coarse still produces a fair amount of fine grounds. Perhaps the difference between a $200 vs a higher priced model. Very pleased nevertheless.
I started my espresso journey in early 2024 with the purchase of a Breville Barista Pro, the newer version with Baratza burr set. First mod I did there was a single dose hopper. From there I began trying different coffees, experimenting with roast levels, etc. Towards the end of 2024 I realized I preferred lighter roasts, and from all the research I was doing learned that the integrated conical burr grinder in my BBP wasn't suited to getting the most out of the those lighter roasted options. After much thoughtful consideration and research, I settled on the DF64. And wow am I glad I did.
I feel like if I didn't upgrade to this grinder, my coffee obsession might've died. Getting this grinder unlocked a whole new world of espresso possibilities for me. More clarity, more consistency, and just overall better coffee experience.
This grinder is built like a TANK. And as a person who likes to tinker and mod, it's super easy to work on and clean.
Finally, I am beyond pleased with the buying and CS experience with EspressoOutlet. They are incredibly responsive, their prices are great, and the shipping was fast.
I've had this grinder a year and I'm now considering an upgrade to the DF83v v3, and I wouldn't consider buying it from anywhere else but EspressoOutlet!
I purchased one of these units back in May 2025, and after reading about a Reddit post where someone claimed to have lead contamination from their unit, I purchased testing equipment and did my own testing. Unfortunately it showed lead contamination both pre and post flush. The source water showed no contamination at all.
This unit is not safe to use.
The perfect budget grinder for a beginner. Works great!
I’m honestly beyond belief — this is one of the best pieces of gear I’ve ever received. I’ve dreamed of owning a machine like this for years, and it was worth every ounce of the wait.
What makes it stand out? It’s a professional-grade system that somehow hits an incredible budget point without compromising on features. The E61 group head is a timeless classic, and the heat-up time is shockingly fast — especially for a boiler setup.
You’ve got flow control, PID control, and the ability to pull espresso and steam milk simultaneously. It checks every box I’ve been chasing. The build quality is phenomenal, and the pump is whisper-quiet — seriously impressive.
I own a lot of gear, and this machine still managed to blow past my expectations. That says a lot.
I purchased the Turin Legato V2 two weeks ago and I have been blown away! As compared to my previous machine, Breville Barista Express, it is night and day! So much more control and precision. I knew the coffee would taste great and that the shots would be easy to dial in, but an unexpected surprise was how powerful the steam wand is. Even though it's a single boiler machine, there is virtually no wait time between pulling a shot and using the steam wand. Super simple. The design is also a huge plus. It just looks great on the counter with a nice space for warming cups on top. Big fan and so happy with the purchase!
This is my first espresso capable grinder. Works great for my purposes. It’s combined with a Gaggia Classic Pro E24
Amazing grinder at an amazingprice. The build quality is fantastic, it's quiet, and makes a perfectly grind without clumps. It was easy to dial in and has zero retention. I'm very happy with it!
Our machine arrived in a timely manner and was in excellent condition. The machine itself is great for the price point. Very hands on. We look forward to the many espressos in our future!
